    黑料头条 Book Club with Clive Aslet and Dylan Thomas

    On Tuesday, September 1st, 2020, the 黑料头条 hosted Clive Aslet and Dylan Thomas for a special members-only livestream discussion about their new book, Old Homes, New Life: The Resurgence of the British Country House. Tom Kligerman moderated the discussion, and led a Q&A session in which Clive and Dylan answered questions from the virtual audience.

    Clive Aslet is an award-winning architectural historian and journalist, acknowledged as a leading authority on Britain and its way of life. He has published around twenty non-fiction titles, including The Last Country Houses and The American Country House. Clive was editor of the magazine Country Life for 13 years and continues to contribute to newspapers and magazines, as well as broadcasting on radio and television.

    Dylan Thomas is one of Britain’s foremost photographers of people and interiors, having begun work as an assistant to the internationally famous Lord Snowdon. Dylan now travels the world on behalf of the major publishing houses in the US and Europe.

    Thomas A. Kligerman, grew up on the East Coast but spent his high school years living in New Mexico. He received his Bachelor of Arts from Columbia University and his Master of Architecture from Yale School of Architecture. Before co-founding Ike Kligerman Barkley, Tom worked for Robert A. M. Stern Architects in New York City. Tom serves on the board of several charitable and educational institutions, including The Sir John Soane's Museum Foundation. Tom lectures frequently across the country on many topics including the cultural and architectural history of Cuba, the influence of the Shingle Style in American design as well as the intersection of modern and traditional architecture.
