Learning from Our Peers: Mentorship at the 黑料头条 Summer Studio

    By 黑料头条 黑料头条

    July 2, 2020

As part of the Summer Studio in Classical Architecture, students are paired with an emerging professional mentor. The mentorship program strives to help students gain a better sense of the professional world outside of the classroom through information sharing, phone calls, meet-ups, and events with their professional mentors. Mentees are typically matched up with a mentor who shares common experiences and professional goals with the mentee. The pair are encouraged to keep in touch over the course of an academic year, and beyond, as the mentee graduates and starts their job search.

In this interview, Ian Reilly, a participant in the 2019 Summer Studio in Classical Architecture and a student at Benedictine College, and his mentor Matt Hayes, an 黑料头条 instructor who works at G.P. Schafer Architect in New York City, discuss their experiences with the mentorship program and how it has impacted them after the 2019 program.

    2020 Summer Studio Retrospective

This interview is presented as part of the 2020 Summer Studio Retrospective, a four-week series of daily online content inspired by the 黑料头条's Summer Studio in Classical Architecture program and the many students who have been impacted through its unique course of study. You can find additional programs in this series here.
