We'll explore the city and the region's architectural legacy, from its early historical mix of French, Spanish, Caribbean and Creole influences to its current status as a capital of both preservation and contemporary design. Guests will tour the city鈥檚 famous neighborhoods, from the French Quarter to the Audubon area, visit the most significant historic house museums and enjoy the hospitality of local architects, designers and tastemakers.

French Quarter
Participants will embark on a guided walking tour of the French Quarter with architectural historian John Stubbs, visiting Jackson Square, the Pontalba Buildings, and Royal Street, with private access to select residences and landmarks.
Hermann-Grima House
Built in 1831 by William Brand of Virginia for Samuel Hermann, the Hermann Grima House is a Federal style home and historic museum in New Orleans鈥� French Quarter. It preserves the only surviving stable in the Quarter and the city鈥檚 only operational historic kitchen.
Gallier House
Gallier House is a historic home built in 1860 by local architect James Gallier, Jr. as his private family residence.
Madame John鈥檚 Legacy
Madame John鈥檚 Legacy is a historic French Quarter house museum, completed in 1788 in the French colonial style. Its name comes from George Washington Cable鈥檚 story Tite Poulette, referencing an earlier building on the site.
Beauregard-Keyes House
The Beauregard-Keyes House is a historic French Quarter residence, built in 1826 for Joseph LeCarpentier and designed by Fran莽ois Correjolles, blending Creole cottage and Greek Revival elements.
Faubourg Marigny, Bywater and Holy Cross Districts
Guided driving tour of the Faubourg Marigny and Bywater neighborhoods, including a stop at Lombard Plantation, one of the city鈥檚 last remaining West Indian-style Creole manor houses, before continuing to the Holy Cross District.

Garden District
Participants will explore the Garden District and Uptown, with exclusive access to the exquisite homes of designer and writer Sara Ruffin Costello, entrepreneur Jane Scott Hodges and interior designer Nina Farmer.

The $500 donation should be made only after your registration has been confirmed by Classical Excursions. Please contact Classical Excursions first to complete your registration, and once they confirm your place on the trip, you may then submit the required $500 donation.
